Unlocking Success: The Step Up Scholarship for Aspiring First-Generation College Students

Step Up Scholarship is a financial aid program that provides scholarships to low-income students who are the first in their families to attend college. The program was created in 1998 by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and has since been expanded to include students from all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Step Up Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, academic achievement, and leadership potential. Students who receive the scholarship are eligible for up to $10,000 per year for up to four years of college. The scholarship can be used to cover tuition, fees, books, and other educational expenses.
